Back up and ready to go
Have been so busy the last few days that have not been able to get up and running. My darling hubby did a very special project this weekend and the beginning of this week. He took out our old small computer desk and made a beautiful work space and desk area for us. It is going to make things so much easier for us and for me to be able to start getting this rolling with more than just the deals that I do myself. I am hoping to start posting more deals and offers that I find, even if I am not doing them. Hopefully this will start this week, just please be patient.

Rite Aid video value coupons
I was under the impression that all Rite Aid video value coupons were store coupons, they aren't. This is completely my fault for not researching it more. Some of them are actually manufacturer coupons and some are store coupons.
I have had no problem in the last two weeks using them in conjuction with the prevacid coupon at Publix until today. I am very glad that my cashier actually pointed out to me the difference in them so now I know what I am looking at and how to tell the difference, since they all state manufacturer coupon on them, even though alot aren't. If your coupons bar code is a single line and starts with RC, then it is a Rite Aid store coupon, if it doesn't and the bar code is similar to other coupons it is manufacturer. I honestly had never noticed the difference in them when I print out my video value coupons, but will definitely look more closely as don't want to misuse any type of coupon or try to pull one over on Publix. They are above and beyond fair in their taking of coupons and their policies.

Publix Trip on 3-11-10
I just don't seem to be doing as well here lately as I have in the past, of course a savings is a savings. I actually did two separate transactions today so that I would be able to send off for two separate rebates. They didn't turn out as great as I would have hoped. My RiteAid video values for Prevacid is a manufacturer and not a store coupon as I thought, so wasn't able to have any overage this week on it, but still a great deal. I am lucky as my Publix does allow overage. I will still make a profit on it as I have a Prevacid rebate from USAWeekend a couple of weeks ago and will send off for the $15.00 Olay rebate, that I just realized today only had until tomorrow to get purchased.

Grand Total for trip was $15.10 and Grand Savings was $62.68 so was actually a good trip. Plus, have about $5 to $7 in Single Check Rebates coming and $10 gift card, so basically came out even with possibility of small money maker!!!
Now my 3rd transaction I also had a buy Gillette Fushion and get body wash free, but they had none left. Also, for some reason, I honestly wouldn't have done this transaction had a calculated better in my head the cost up. I miss added and thought it was going to be cheaper than it was. I know that there are a couple of small Single Check Rebates in these transactions and it qualified me for the $10.00 Rite Aid gift card with $30.00 PG purchase, but that isn't what I was going for, just an added bonus. I know that I don't need that much foundation, that is why I bought my skin type and my mothers. If I am going to get a really good deal or free item that I know I won't use all of, I always check and see if she need any.

Sorry for the delay in any updates
I have seem to have been overwhelmed these last couple of days. I just couldn't get to the computer during the day with our youngest running wild. He is still refusing to nap during day and he has some insomnia at night, so we are wiped out this week. I do have some deals that I have worked yesterday at Rite Aid and today at Publix that I am going to be posting. Hopefully these will help someone else out as well. They are not huge deals or purchases, as things are tight financially this month. But aren't they everywhere!!
Anyways, hopefully if not completed today will be able finish them up tonight after school meeting. Yes, have to go to school this evening for meeting about starting high school next year for our oldest.

Okay, to start off, this was not the best savings trip for me. I am not complaining, but have done better. I went yesterday, Sunday, to try and hit the Kellog's sale. Fruit Chillers with huge print limit!!
There is a new printable for Del Monte Fruit Chillers with an extremely high print limit. These usually run around $2 at Target or Walmart. My boys absolutely LOVE them, and they are made with real fruit!! Just keep hitting the back button and print as many as you want or they will allow!!! These are great, because they are in the canned fruit isle and can be kept in cabinets until you are ready to freeze them!!

Haven't been shopping this week
I haven't been shopping since Monday. I know that is hard to believe, but have been pretty much just hanging out at home. We had enough stock up to not have to go this week shopping. I am hitting the Winn Dixie Digiorno deal today, even though I have no cpns for the pizza :(
But there is a plus side, finally get to use the emovie cash tickets from General Mills cereal and hubby and I are going to the movies tonight without our boys. We haven't done that in atleast over 3 years, since we usually just stay home and do something with our boys.

Target Read Across America trip
We took our boys to Target this morning for the Dr. Seuss reading event. The two younger ones were so happy, actually our 7 yr old seemed alittle bored, but he had been studying Dr. Seuss all week in school and will be dressing up as Thing 2 on Tuesday for a class project. Our youngest just sat enthralled with the whole thing and loved the stories.
I did take my coupon book with me, and of course my darling hubby rolled his eyes as usual. He asked are we couponing today? I just laughed and told him I was only looking for a couple of things.
I purchased 4 Gillette body and face shower washes 8.5oz and 4 of the hair and body washes. They are regular price of $1.99 each and I used 4 $4.00 off two coupons from the 2-21 P&G insert. I also purchased a Rimmel Mascara for $2.24 and used the $3.00 off coupon from March ALL You magazine.(Needed the mascara thanks to my middle one using mine to paint stripes on things) I also got hubby an energy drink for being so patient with my searching for stuff. My total came to $2.42, which was $0.66 before taxes and $1.76 of taxes. I thought that was a great deal.
I don't usually buy so many of one product, but with older sons, two brothers, and a nephew birthday all going on I figured what better way to get them something they can use and it not break the bank for us!!!

Surprise in mail today from P&G
I go to several sites a day to check out different things if I have time. At the Proctor & Gamble site they were having where you could request a sample of the new Pampers that are coming out next month. Their must have been some mix-up in their system, because my postal carrier came to my door today with 5 boxes!! I was completely shocked!!! Did not realize what samples it was, figured maybe one of several different ones I had ordered. By was I wrong!!!!! They were 5 boxes all of the Pampers samples!!!!!! Each package had 3 diapers each in them, a total of 15 diapers free!!!!!!!!! To me that is almost the same amount in a small package, and didn't have to pay for anything!!

Of course the Hotwheels were to occupy my little monster while shopping, keeps his collection growing and small price to pay. Also the donuts were a impulse buy at register for him as well. Trash bags were because we were out at house.
I do know that I have much better coupons for the cereals, but we were out so just decided to get some for breakfast. Like I said, this was a last minute trip, so I was not as prepared as usual. I usually spend an hour or two after boys go to bed getting ready to shop with ad and coupon matchups, but I still feel that I did well with this trip. I put the links for the coupons I used, hopefully you can copy and paste and be able to get those coupons as well.

Looking for Comments
I would love to see what you think of my blog. I would love to see your comments, questions, or any deals that you have come across yourself!! I am working very hard on trying to be more active each day with this and start posting more deals that I find or link to some from other sites and blogs that I run across. Am also looking to get more active with couponing and passing along what I find to my blog readers.
I am currently in the process of still learning about blogging so please bear with me and there are those days that I just don't have time to get on here. I do hear the questions on how do I not have time to do more, since I stay at home and don't work. Actually I do work, I am a wife and mother of three. I do the housework while my husband works all day, which I admit some days doesn't get quite finished or done as I would like. I have a very active 2 1/2 year old at home all day, who is going through the no napping phase. I absolutely cannot ignore him to donate all my spare time to being online. He is not one of those kids who likes to play by himself, so I spend alot of my day playing cars or things like that. I also get up at 5:30 every morning to get our 7 and 13 yr old off to school and when they get home at 4 it is time to cook dinner and do homework. Then before bed I like to spend time with my boys and husband when he gets home from work. I also do all the shopping and errand running during the day with my youngest because I value our family time in the evenings. I actually enjoy cooking dinner and helping the boys with homework and just relaxing and talking with my husband and us playing with our boys. Some nights, by the time showers, baths, and bedtime routines are done, I am just to exhausted from the day to be able to get online. My wonderful husband has more than once offered to help out in evening by completely occupying the boys so that I can concentrate on blog, but alot of nights, honestly I just want to have family time with them. So, if you don't see a post for a day or I miss something, please don't be upset.
I really want to get my blog up and going and be able to help out others with great deals and everything, but I just can't do it full-time everyday. We can't afford daycare and that is beyond okay with me, as I enjoy my time with my boys, but it does put me behind sometimes.
Thank you all.

Huggies wipes deal at CVS
I saw on several other sites that some CVS stores have the large package of refill wipes on sale for 2/$5.00. I know the ad shows the tubs as being on sale, but the large refill packages that are regularly $7.99 each are ringing up for this price as well!!! This is a great deal. Here is what I did today to get an even better deal on these due to the fact that I don't have any huggies wipes coupons.
I scanned my CVS card at the price scanner to see if I had any printable coupons available. I received a $5/$15 purchase. I was going to purchase Dr.Pepper anyways, since it is all my darling hubby drinks. They are 4/$13 with $3 extra care bucks back.
I purchased 4 12-packs of Dr. Pepper and 2 large wipe refill packages(did check price at scanner first to make sure they would ring up at that price). I used my $5/$15 cpn so basically only paid for Dr. Pepper. I then did another transaction of 2 more large refill packages of wipes and used my $3 extra care bucks and only paid $2 plus tax. It worked out where I basically only paid $2 plus tax for 4 large refill huggies wipes packages which normally run $7.99 a each before taxes!!! What a wonderful deal this is. Now I won't need wipes for some time, hopefully son will be fully potty trained before I run out!!!!!!!

Winn Dixie new coupons
I ran into Winn Dixie yesterday to just pick up some hamburger for dinner. While there I grabbed a couple of cans of Pillsbury grands that are on sale this week. I received a very nice surprise at checkout. A $2.00 of next purchase, manufacturer cpn from Pillsbury!!!!!!! This cpn is not for pillsbury product, it is just like Walgreens Register Rewards.
I am ecstatic, as this is great for Publix, who will take this cpn. I was starting to get upset with Winn Dixie, as they seem to be stopping the $10 off $50 cpn for purchases and now printing out $5 off $75 purchase cpns. Those are not that great of a cpn to me. So keep your eyes out for those!!

Great Birthday Goody bag ideas
Having three boys, even spaced as ours are can be hard on our budget for birthdays. I always seem to be struggling to make goody bags for our guests, which consists of almost all family. With my middle one having a birthday at the beginning of December, I got the idea a couple of years ago to hit the clearance sales after Halloween. It worked out great as he wanted a Spy themed party. The yellow crime scene type ribbon was perfect for decorations. I never think to look at other after holiday clearance sales.
This week, I thought about it since I have one with a birthday at the end of March and the youngest at the end of May. I found some great party favors(paddle balls, yo-yos, and fresbies) at Walmart for a quarter a piece the other day. Then yesterday at Target I went to their Valentines clearance section, which was 90% off. I spent about $2.50 and got tons of boxes of cards. Several of these boxes had pencils in them. What a great idea for party goody bags!! This also gives my 7 year old several choices for cards next year without having to pay the higher prices. I was thrilled.
Now I still have St. Patrick's day to go and then Easter clearance as well. I try to get the things that actually do not have the holiday theme or name on them and it works great.
Hope this helps out some others as well.

Good deals I have found at Target
I found some Glade Plugins with the extra outlet on clearance at my local Target yesterday for $1.64. The regular plugin gel warmers are on sale this week for $1.66, and their is a coupon for $1.50 off from 1/24 Smartsource. This is a great deal because if you buys three it qualifies for the $5.00 S.C. Johnson rebate. I don't usually use the plugin type airfreshners, but at .14-.16 cents, it is worth it for me.

Publix savings of $131.24 spent only $11.45
Had what I believe is my best Publix shopping trip ever!!! I was alittle upset with myself for not getting the local Island Clipper before going to Publix, because they were out in store. This magazine has a $5/$50 Publix cpn in it so would have saved more if I had picked it up in town before hand.
I am still very happy with this trip, and hubby was beyond thrilled with it. Now I did use several Register Rewards that I had from Walgreens, which helped so much. Here is my trip

Target Gift Card and Olay rebate deal
Now here is a great deal, just wish I knew about it earlier this week, as I did deal #1 and received the gift cards, but Rebate was not active as of yet. May try to do this deal again next week it will just depend on available finances. These deal scenarios I got from TotallyTarget.com I absolutely love her site and highly recommend it if you want to shop target and get some great deals. If you are looking for the rebate for Olay you can click the title of post and should pull up the rebate form. This is a great deal and a wonderful moneymaker if you can do it. Now my total was two dollars higher, as I do not get the Target mobile coupon, which comes via text message on cell phone. But still a great deal otherwise if you can do it. I use the gift cards to help purchase other things that I need.

Behind yet again
Sorry to say that I am behind on things yet again this week. With the weather being yucky and school closing on Friday, I haven't had a chance to get much done. I did hit a couple of sales this week, but they ended Tuesday. I apologize for not getting deals posted as I should have. With having three boys, things seem to get hectic at times. All three have had colds or not felt good this week and now one has pink eye. Trying to isolate him from the older one is easy, but from our youngest is extremely hard since they both want to play together, for once without fighting. I will try to do better this week, but it is Mardi Gras parades on Tuesday and we don't miss the two that are local. Will be first time for our oldest to go to parades since he just moved in with us this summer. Very, very excited about that. Will post any good deals that I run across or find.

Publix trip on 2-8-2010
I only ran into Publix today to catch a few deals before they end tomorrow. I also wanted to get some pull ups for the Kimberly Clark/Unilever Rebate before it ended on Saturday.

1 Rite Aid $5 off $25 purchase
1 Publix $5 off $50 purchase
1 $10 Walgreens Registar Rewards
2 $3.00 Publix cpn for Pull Ups
1 $3.00 Publix cpn for Goodnites
2 $2.00 off any Pull Ups
1 $1.50 off Goodnites
1 $1.00 off two Kraft Shells and cheese products
4 $2.00 off two Dixie plates 30ct. Rite Aid Video cpn
1 $1.00 off two Yoplait kids Yogurt
Overall a wonderful trip in my opinion. Less than $10 for all those pull ups and plates was a great buy for me. We are working on trying to potty train our youngest. The Goodnites I have never purchased before, but they are suppose to look similar to boxers, so hoping that will encourage as he has some strange fear of pull ups. Diapers don't bother him, and he will wear underwear, but goes nuts if you try to put a pull up on him. Anyways, if nothing else, very stocked up on paper plates!!!

Did not have as many coupons this week for Winn Dixie, but they had some great B1G1 free items on sale this week. Had to purchase chips and dip for sons valentines snack at school this week so worked out great. The roast were a great buy I believe. They are small so it will take two to feed my family of 5, but that is fine. The Meal Deal works out to atleast two different meals for us and snacks as well. My family loves the cocktail smokies wrapped in biscuits for dinner so almost two meals for less than cost of one. Really needed this deal this week. I will actually try to get this deal one more time tomorrow before it ends.

Walgreens Deal
Here are my totals from Walgreens. I actually had no out of pocket expense on this trip because of a gift card from Walgreens. My shopping experience with them was not so great last week when I went to work the Pepsi deal. I did email the company and by that evening had received a phone call from the Manager of our local store. He apologized and wanted to give me a $25 gift card for the problems and poor customer service that I received. Here are my purchases and coupons.

Busy
I am little behind this week, actually alot behind this week. I have been very busy with family things and have not had a chance to post my sales and deals for this week. I hope to have time today to get them up. I have several deals that I did this week that I will post. I am very pleased with my deals for this week from all my shopping experiences.
We have had a busy week in our house. My wonderful husband has had to fix my car, which has been down for a couple of months. The part to fix it was just so expensive and with us only being a one income family can't just run out and buy something because we want it or need it. We have bills and groceries and 3 boys to take care of that come first. Now that it is fixed, we got some different seats for his truck for free and now he is redoing his truck interior, which is a project that he has wanted to do forever.
Please bear with me as I will get caught up as soon as possible and will get everything posted.

Today's Shopping Agenda
I will be just hitting a couple of sales today at Target, Walgreens, and Winn Dixie. I am getting my Publix list together for tomorrow, unless I get some time this afternoon to go. Will post how my deals worked out later today when I can.
Tuesday, February 2, 2010
Slow start to this week for me. Behind on getting anything done yet, as we are having to fix car. I will be doing my shopping hopefully tomorrow and will post my sales. I have seen alot of things that are great deals on the sneak peek that IHeartPublix puts out, but there are some good deals on snack stuff that I may try to get. Really not sure what is on agenda for shopping this week, but do know that I will be doing the Pepsi sale at Walgreens and submitting for the Pepsico Rebate which ends this weekend, and also will be getting Tostidos and dip at Target as those are great deals also. Will post details and coupons used as soon as I get a chance.

This was my best trip to date. When looking at what I spend, I always exclude tax when I figure whether I did good or not, because tax is not added into my savings total, so I don't consider it when looking at what I spent. Even looking at tax, I still spent less than $4.00 for over $66 worth of things, to me that is an excellent savings.

Email companies to get coupons
I have purchased several products and have been very unhappy with quality or taste. I started to email the company that makes that product. Here's a perfect example:
My quesadillas Farm Rich product purchased yesterday was not what it should have been. One bag was just basically bread and cheese with no meat. I emailed them and told them about my experience with their product, I did save package so could enter information off of it. They returned an email within 2 hours to apologize and thank me for my comments, also to let me know that replacement coupons for free products would be mailed immediately to me.
Purchased Betty Crocker cake mixes for sons birthday. Upon trying to ice them as you would any other cake, they crumbled to pieces. I email General Mills over this and let them know what happened and the circumstances and how unhappy I was with their product. In response received 4 coupons that were $6.00 each of General Mills products. I then used those to buy 4 boxes of cereal for my family. Which also had movie e-cash codes on them. So not only did I get four free boxes of cereal but also two free movie tickets.
So if you are unhappy with a product let the company know, or if you are happy let them know. I have had several companies send me coupons just for complimenting their products.

P&G coupon booklet
My way of getting the deals that I do is by searching all types of sites and requesting coupons. We do not have a Save A Lot where I shop and Publix does not consider them a competitor, but they are releasing a P&G coupon book that you can request by mail. Sometimes they are not store specific coupons, but manufactor which means you can use anywhere. Just click on post title and will link you to site to request your copy.
Coupons sites
I get several of my coupons from online sites. The ones that I found that have the best selection and more importantly are FREE are
coupons.com
smartsource.com
redplum.com

Quaker True Delights Offer
I was at Target the other day and purchased a box of Quaker True Delights to try. They were on sale for $2.83 which wasn't too bad for a snack for the boys. I normally would not purchase these at that price, but did have a coupon which took .50 off so thought we would try them. Inside the box was a survey card which if completed survey they would send you a $10 cash card. This is not advertised on box or anywhere else. I was very thrilled and have completed survey and now waiting for cash card to come snail mail. There is a limit of 1 per household, so not worth buying several boxes to get more than one card. I figure a $2.33 plus tax cost for $10 back was well worth it.

Did not use coupons for popcorn, trash bags, or buns as they were on sale and didn't have any coupons for them. Also, as you will notice as I go on that there will almost always be 1 or 2 hotwheels cars on my shopping lists. Like previously stated, I am a stay at home mom which means my 2 1/2yr old goes to get groceries with me. I use incentives to keep him from getting to frustrated and aggravated as most 2 yr olds do while shopping. Also this week the donuts were something to keep him occupied while I hit the sales and deals.

Just starting out
I have decided to write a blog about my savings by using coupons. I have read several blogs by moms who coupon to save for various reasons. I have noticed on some that the deals they post don't always help me out. I didn't start couponing to just try something new. We are a family of 5 with one income. Although my hubby works hard, as everyone knows times are tough. I was finding that the cost of feeding my family was increasing every week, and without good sales things were getting tight. So, I researched some and starting using coupons and have cut our grocery bills in half and working on cutting even more. I plan on trying to post deals that I find and use. I will do my best to keep all things up to date as I find them or do the deal myself. I personally was one who always thought Publix was to expensive to shop, but have learned differently. They have the best coupon policy for us in my area and the greatest deals. Please send comments on anything that you see, and I appreciate it. Will begin posting with my shopping trip from yesterday.
